These are a glimse of what I managed to snap during
my short visit to Skagen Museum.
Some great colours on the side of a sculpture in the garden
that reflect what time and weather can create.

Some fine French roof

These pictures are from a small area over just a couple of blocks
in Montmartre, Paris. The differences are large and also beautiful.
Look at this wonderful old ceiling with a grande chandelier. I
especially did like that the cafe have put Moroccan lamps to it and
then made the interior complete and tasty. A dreamplace.
U can´t see it on the picture, but they also have huge pillows that
you could really sink into and nice chillout music on the speakers.mmm
And look at this roof I snapped from the balcony, a mixture of old
and new architecture, and amazing colours...

Oslo

We love to travel and discover other destinations and foreign cities
- but there is no place like home.
Oslo is beauty, friends, security, projects, work, family and of course a beautiful thing...such is my home.

One of the world's most influential magazine Wallpaper, has chosen Oslo to the fourth best city in the world when it comes to design and architecture 2011 - Congratulations to my homecity.
Of course thanks to our wonderful new Opera, Monica Bonvicinis sculpture "She lies" in the harbor (pure beauty) as well as many other major architectural projects like the new National Museum, Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, Holmenkollen among others..

Enclosed you find a couple of pics I have snapped during the last couple of days from an old workingclass area in Oslo...nice texture, colours and athmosphere - like so many other places in Oslo:-)

My Marrakech

This is one of many pictures I snapped in Marrakech,
a dream city for any interior girl. Lamps, Moroccan
cushions, spices, gorgeous house decor, good taste etc,
the list is long...
I loved the warm colors everywhere, think spices;
red, orange and a countless variations of sienna.
But this rather damaged building catch my eye and
its colours are more cold, but still so inspiring
with the worn colours and structures.

Junk transformation

I´ve got this white, rather dull-looking and
out-of-date refrigerator for almost nothing.
My plan when I got it was to paint it turqouis,
to make it a bit fifties looking to match the
rest of my kitchen.
It was important to clean the surfaces so the
result will look like its never has been painted
at home but has its original colour - all dust,
dirt, smoke, grease, food etcetra must be cleaned
off, and I´ve finished it all with some fine
sandpaper, and wiped off the dust from the sandpaper
with a clean damp rag.
First, use a small fine roller and paint a thin layer
of litter kent oil-based primer. Then take several
layers, applied very thinly for each subject with
benga paint or oil-based paint that is very shiny,
I`ve got my local paint store to mix the exact color
I wanted for my refrigerator.

Purple hacienta

Look at the colour on this house I snapped

in Barcelona! A little lovely purple hacienta

in the middle of the city...simply adoreable,

can I move in soon?

Manholes as a table

Came across a whole bunch of abandoned and rusty
manholes and manholecovers in Sofienbergparken
the other evening. The full vision was strikingly
beautiful - I wish I could take with me a piece - maybe
to use as a table, if I could make a table top on -
unfortunately the manhole was too heavy to carry.
Such beautiful textures and rusty colors...mm.

A roof to die for

I am both inspired and amazed after a visit

to a really cozy restaurant with great decor

and surroundings in Stockholm last week...

There was a high ceiling, that had a worn

appearance with lots of texture. Beautiful art

on the walls, chandeliers and old mirrors gave

me lots of interior ideas, at Restaurant Pelikan.

The Factory

I am both fascinated and inspired after a visit to

the old factory at Øvre Eiker that is transformed into

an well known artist´s studio. Approximately 7 meters

below the roof, rusty pipes textures mixed with streetart

on the walls - addition to massive amounts of other

art materials. Absolutely astounding.

Mexican haciendas

Look at the colours on these 2 houses (remind you

that this is from a poor neighboorhood with no fancy

stuff around) I have photographed in Mexico!

A bit different

Just came home from a trip to Skagen.

The city's distinctive character is the old yellow brick houses,

and gardens are as usually very well-kept.

I came across a house with a garden that were slightly different.

Check out the worn blue door on the left and the bright turquoise

door to the right.

Raw beauty...

Containers

Is it possible to get inspiration, both when it comes to create art or redecorate our living room from a container? Trash for some - inspiration and art for other people.

Look at the rusty and amazing colours! They give me inspiration to colourwash on one of my walls or on a canvas.

Please find this brief explanation of the technique colourwashing:

To build up translucent layers of colour, one colour on top of the other.

The technique means that one or two thin layers is added on top of a basic background colour to create a translucent, soft rank and colour effect. The thin layers may be shades of the same colour or carefully selected colour combinations. You can both use oil-based or water-based paint. The color on the wall becomes stronger the more layers you paint.
Please try this at home!

Rusty, worn and amazing

Look at the amazing textures and colours on these photos I have taken of walls and doors just around my neighboorhood blocks and in my backyard.I especially fancy the way the rusty details break through the worn colours. My wishlist is a whole wall in my apartment that is reminiscent of these, or on a big canvas in my living room.

Some inspiring doors I came across on my trip to Sardinia last year.

The Mediterranean climate gives worn and exciting colors and structures.

I especially fancy the way the rusty details break through turquoise and teal blue nuances.
